I bought my LS this past June. All was well until I started noticing some misfires. So I replaced all the plugs. In doing so found a few cylinders where the plugs were COVERED in oil.
QUESTION 1: Anyone experienced anything like this? Is the LS known for bad valve stem seals? Or is there another problem I should know about? Well despite the new plugs the misfires continue. I took it to a trusted mechanic today and was informed that there is a moisture problem with the wires leading to the coil packs. I was told to replace the two coil packs on the misfiring cylinders. He also informed me of a notice out on the LS regarding a moisture problem where the wires leading to the coil packs have problems leading to misfiring. Apparently there is a solution for this problem. QUESTION 2: Anyone ever dealt with this? Replacing the coil packs wouldn't be that hard but if there is some other procedure needed I'm concerned. QUESTION 3: If you have dealt with or heard of this, did it solve the problem of the misfires?? I hope someone out there can help. |
