I recently aquired a 94 grand caravan SE.....the A/C did not work at all on it, just blew hot air. I bought a refill can of R-134A with the leak sealer from Advance Auto.
I recharged the system per the directions......when I run the A/C now, it takes about 5 min on full blast to even remotely start feeling cool. Eventually, it does get to a point of mildly cool....however I want it to be ice cold like it was the day it rolled off the assembly line. what can i do to accomplish this? It's obvious the freon recharge helped....what else can I check now? could a new compressor help? is there filters that need changed? sensors bad in A/C system? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....reply here or email me [email protected] thanks guys! |

You should probably get a A/C pressure gauge and check the system's charge level. One can may not be enough, but you don't want to overcharge. I got mine at VIP for around $8.

I agree you should have the pressure checked. If your freon is low then that could be your problem. Buy one of the re-fill cans that come with the pressure gauge on it. hey usually run about $10.00.
