What year? My 92 and all others I've seen have the blower motor under the hood, on the firewall passenger side. pretty easy to get to, you might have to move the coolant resevoir to pull the motor.
when mine stopped, i'd pop the hood and rap it with a screwdriver handle and it was good to go until i stopped again. worked fine for me but my wife finaly made me get a new one. i found rebuilts on the internet for under $20 |

you dont need to pull the switch to test it. just pull the wire off the motor and check for voltage with the switch and the key on. takes about 2 mins. if you have voltage, then the motor is bad, if you don't have voltage then check the fuse and switch.

the '97 is not quite as easy to get to as the older ones. check out Chris' post "Gm is as bad as the oil companies".

Great advice i check for voltage and none also realized the heater gages has to be on somewhere at least not on the off to show power, in the long run guess what i found this guy at the junk yard said first check the voltage where theres 4 prongs switch and i had power there but still not at the motor switch so i talked to a parts man he said sounds like the relay switch so i check and la la that was it on wire was burnt so i wiggled my screwdriver in there and filed with a finger nail file on the prong and pluged it in and WOW it worked, now i kinda wonder why it looked burnt must have got hot and didn't blow a fuse hummmm oh well next time thats where i will be checking. |
