Hey there everyone, I am looking to redo my entire exhaust system, from the headers to the mufflers n tips. Now my question are:
1) What do you people recommend? (I am looking for performance) and 2) Should I try to go with one brand all the way through? Money is somewhat of an issue as well, so if anyone can give suggestions, it would be appreciated. Thank you Jay_Ef |

Re: What Exhaust to get?
what motor? RkSport is good, PaceSetter is good. RkSport has a COMPLETE syatem, Pacesetter has the Header for sure and I believe the catback so they have a complete system. there are others, but RK and Pace are the most widely used. your call from there, but the RK looks better IMO, I believe the PaceSetter flows better though IIRC.

My engines is a 2.4L DOHC.
Thanks for the info...I had definetely been looking at pacesetter previously. If anyone one else has any opinions feel free to drop a line. I'm also looking for something that sounds really really nice. |

I am thinking about going with the RK model. Can anyone describe the sound output from the rk model?

Re: What Exhaust to get?
the RK is more restrictive than the Pacesetter, thus causing a loss of power, but the sound should be the same if just using different headers. the RK exhaust is deep and loud, while I haven't heard the pacesetter on a Sunfire/Cavy, the Pacesetters on VW's are pretty deep with a throaty tone up in the higher RPMs while not losing the deep notes. I use glasspacks on my car since it has the HO and it is deep until I get on it, then it rasps out like a race car (that's what 6500-7000 RPM will get you LOL)
my advice is to visit the popular exhaust company sites and listen to their samples and decide for yourself. after all, what I like you might think sounds like garbage.
