c3500 starting problem

i have a 1998 c3500 2wd pickup. starts fine sometimes, then no sound at all. after i turn the ignition, no lights, gauges, or anything comes on but you can hear a buzzing even after the key is removed. When it does start, it almost sounds like the starter is dragging, or there is a delay in contact, something, then it turns over. Any ideas? thanks

sounds like your solinoid on your starter is bad or exhaust might burn hole in the wires going to it try cheaking them might be it

ignition switch probably bad-on top of steering column under dash
