Egr Valve Or Sensor

Scanned my 96 villager at auto zone today. The engine light has been on for months but I never noticed anything running wrong. Anyway the code for egr came up with no definitive answers on what to replace.

What is more likely bad the valve itself or the sensor?

Thanks

Re: Egr Valve Or Sensor

The egr is a emissons gas recyler. It is located on the fire wall side of the engine it looks like a diaphram pump. if you put your finger under it and push up it should stall the engine if not it is dirty/clogged or damage replacement is needed and it is very easy to remove
