Sr20dett??
Heres a ? for all you Nissan guys out there. I have a 1995 Civic Ex
and im lookin to do a motor swap but im tired of all these B series and H series engines. Dont get me wrong i love these engines but i want soomething diffrent. So i was wondering if i could swap a nissan SR20DETT motor into my civic... What parts would i need other than engine, tranny, and ecu. i was wondering how hard it would be or if its even possible, get back 2 me thanx. |

Re: Sr20dett??
I think you have one too many Ts in the name. It would take an assload of fabrication, but it is possible. It'd be cheaper to just buy a 240 with the sr20 already in it

Re: Sr20dett??
SRs suck but a few people have used the FF SR20 motor *bluebird i think* and stuffed into an engine bay.
If you want crazy swaps the mitsu DSM turbo motor is another one few have done either of these swaps as they are fucking insane amouts of work either taking months upon months or costing 10K+ for it. Why not just get a K if you have money? |

There's a Del Sol with a SR in it. Too much work if you ask me when you can drop a b-series turbo in and make as much power as you could ever want. But I’ll give you props for trying to be different. |

Re: Sr20dett??
Ok i never did mention KA-T and those are nice too...its just personal preference...people like SRs more for drifting and others like KA-T for more straight line power...

Most peole who road race and autoX KA-T i can say first hand SR= WACK it would be like this in honda terms. taking out an LS to swap a d16z6 in cause its got vtec already.. yet again SR= WACK. |

Re: Sr20dett??
Like I said its all PERSONAL preference between having a KA and a SR. Its just like in honda would someone rather have a LS or a B16...its personal preference...240SX with a stock SR can hit mid 14s stock and if you crank up the stock boost you could probably do high 13s...and thats just on a STOCK SR...SRs can take about 13psi on the stock turbo safely...

as I said d16z6 to LS is a better comparo anyway. if smoking if crack is your thing then SRs are the bomb. Last edited by Ace$nyper; 09-24-2005 at 12:43 PM. |
