Angry 93 Fuel Cut Off Light

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this issue? Sometimes the car will start right up, other times it will try to turn over and takes alot of cursing and several attempts to start. I've replaced the Fuel Pump Relay, new fuses, new fuel filter and not sure where to go from here. I have seen other posts re: bypassing the switch but that seems incredibly unsafe in case of an accident. Can someone explain to me why a distributor could be the problem?

you might want to check for vacume leaks in the engine bay that will also cause a fuel cut-off light to come on. you might want to start at the vris solonoids behind the manifold. also check the airbox assembly for cracks/leaks from the throttlebody to the filter. i had my light come on my 94' and it took an hour to find and plug the vac leaks. one was from a regulator that connects to vris #1 soloniod, 2nd one was at the front of the intake manifold on the driverside that lead to nowhere so i just capped it off untill i can find out where it goes (dont have the evtm book yet) and the 3rd leak was my tb elbow that connects to the vaf. it had a good size crack where it attaches to the tb so i used black electrical tape to seal it off as i wraped it several times around the elbow to prevent it from leaking air.
