Oil Pan Removal
Is it possible to remove the oil pan without pulling the motor on a 95 S10 2WD 4.3? I need to look at a bearing. Motor or valve train knock after motor sits overnight but goes away after about 30 seconds after starting. This was the same motor that swallowed a washer per my previous post. The "tick or slight knock heard sounds like its coming from the opposite side that we worked on and had apart.

Re: Oil Pan Removal
You can almost do it on a 4x4, so I'm sure that you can on a 2wd.
The trick is undo the motor mounts, and use a engine hoist to tip the motor up as much as possible. Uou'll have to remove the fan for this, and probably the rad too. If you do have to pull it then your already a quarter of the way there |
