My Tino has developed an annoying, expensive but trivial problem.
Half of the back light behind the digital disply on the instrument panel has failed, thats the bit which shows odometer, time and external temperature. Apparently it will require complete removal of the dash boared to fix |

Re: Nissan Almeria Tino
I'd glue one of those LED keychain thingies to the steering wheel shaft so its pointed at the display....ghetto, i know....but that's what I'd do.

If so I am not impressed, no replacable item such as an instrument light should require a major dismantling to have it replaced. |

Re: Re: Re: Nissan Almeria Tino
My '87 pulsar has 5 or 6 light bulbs in the dash unit...the one behind the fuel gauge winks out now and then, but that's because of the crappy plastic bulb holder thingie (smacking the dashboard with a flat palm will often revive it)...I'm not sure they have the right quality controls in place if the stuff is flaking out on you like that. Most of the light bulbs in my dash are probably the originals!! I would expect a 2001 model to have newer technology that lasts a bit longer....and yes, it is QUITE ridiculous that the pesky little light bulb takes 2 hours to replace. (3 hours if you include the ASE-approved bloody-knuckle cursing that often accompanies dashboard removal and reassemble)
