Re: aftermarket cd players

have you picked out your new head unit yet? Different stereos have different mounting depths, so it will make a huge difference on what it looks like in your dash.

here is a link to an oversized headunit that was made go in GM vehicles and other models with the larger stock units. you wont need a mounting bracket if you get this one. it seems to be an ok cd player. dont get me wrong pioneer is not the best but they are well known. maybe some other member may have the cd player and can give you actual feedback for it.

Re: aftermarket cd players

There is another unit made by Pioneer, the DEH-P77-DH that looks identical to the one in the link, but has a dedicatd set of RCA's for subwoofer and more features. I owned a DEH-P77-DH and loved it except for one thing, the radio reception wasn't up to the quality of a Kenwood. Other than that, it has variable crossovers that actually work to keep your smaller speakers from rattling, and the CD player was top notch, too bad it can't play MP-3s. It's internal amp will power your front and rear speakers cleanly and it's RCA's send a nice clean signal to external amps if you wan't BOOM.
