PT Cruiser vs. HHR

Which one do you like better overall? I liked the PT when it first came out but that quickly died down because the styling seemed a little..umm....femenine. No offense to PT owners. Now we have the Chevy HHR. That to me looks a bit more manly if not lil boyish. Even though early performance numbers put the PT in front of the HHR, my pick goes out to the Chevy. I hope this car helps GM regain some of what they lost in the marketplace.

Re: PT Cruiser vs. HHR

i think both those cars should be destroyed. but if i was forced to drive one it would be the hhr cause the pt is kinda girly.

They both look too alike, but perhaps that is because they are designed by the same guy. I wouldn't own either but if I had to pick one it would have to be the PT Turbo.

Don't really care for either, yet I think the HHR looks a little more appealing.

Do you have a good, intelligent, non-ignorant reason to say that?

As much as I've loved my various race cars and musclecars, I've found my PT to be the perfect daily driver. 68k miles, including a season of autocross, hauling crushed rock and lumber, camping, travelling from Baltimore to Maine and Orlando, as well as up to Hartford, CT many times, and zero problems whatsoever. Comfy, reliable, versatile, inexpensive.

But let's hear what the inexperienced teenager has to say as to why he thinks my car should be "destroyed." Other than the fact he thinks it's ugly. Should you be destroyed because I find you ugly? Or your girl?

I like the HHR's too, though they are a bit smaller inside.

In both cases, they can easily be customized.

Re: PT Cruiser vs. HHR

i think the HHR looks better then the PT, even with that face lift they came out with. But the PT obviously has the better power train selection. Now the HHRs interior looks reletively normal, while the PTs interior, in my opinon, went grossly overboard with the retro styling. that slab flat single color center dash is atrocious as far as my tastes go. and sadly the HHR is slow, while the PT Turbo flies.

i wouldnt want either one of them, the HHR isnt really fast enough, and the styling of the PT just isnt my cup of tea. but who the hell am i kidding, these cars were made for retro style and utility, so i wouldnt be considering them anyway.

replace stock speakers with Pioneers, plus two tweeters built into the dash or doors. costume sub box in place of center console, still picking subs, probably a pair of eights
Engine & Suspension: Ram air intake, Daul side exhaust, ignition and wires, hoter cam if available, need to learn how to port heads, some kind of cute dress up kit. lowering springs, stiffer shocks, and tie bars, and wheels (Weld Racing perhaps)

Re: PT Cruiser vs. HHR

Did anyone read either car and driver or motor trend last month? They had a comparo between the HHR, PT cruiser, Element, XB and something else I think. I don't particularly care for any of them and at the end I was even more at a loss than before I read the article. All I can say is that the PT Turbo has alot more power than the others.

Must not be spending as much advertising.

I would take the PT Turbo without question. Stock I guess they look "girlie" but they have pretty manly power and I care more about that than the way the car looks.

Re: PT Cruiser vs. HHR

I like both, but im a Personal Transportation cruiser fan. The Herritage Hight Roof is cool too, but just doesnt have the power of the GT bruiser.
