Mbc

When reading the VFaq for building a manual boost controller it sounded dangerous to the engine. How difficult is it to install an mbc (pre-built) without killing your engine?

Re: Mbc

Installing a MBC is a piece of cake. Just make sure you have it adjusted to it's lowest setting before taking the car for a rip!

Re: Mbc

Also know that the lowest setting is having the valve all the way open. Then gradually close it 1/4 turn at a time and watch that your boost doesn't exceed 16 psi on an after market boost gauge.(must have) Is this a 2G? replace your BOV with a 1st gen.

Re: Mbc

Differnt brands os MBCs have differnt springs...1/4turn may be nothing on some brands....they should all list about how much to turn to increase the boost ~1psi. Definitly time to get a 1g bov and probably a UICP...stock one is a joke. Good cone filter (FIPK) is a good idea now if you dont already have one.
