How do you do it on a 99 Neon R/T?

If you are just replacing the EGR valve, then you will first have to remove your intake and battery. Then locate the EGR valve. I believe there are two 10mm bolts that attach it to the side of the head. They are not easily accesible but with some extensions and a good socket, you can get to them. Remove those two bolts and then the two that connect the EGR valve to the tube. The other two are a bit easier to get to but you will probably need an extension. After you get those 4 bolts out, you should be able to pull and wiggle your EGR valve out. Replacement is the opposite of removal. Don't forget to get a new gasket where the EGR valve connects to the tube.

Re: EGR Valve replacement

so where is the EGR valve located exacly? I found the solinoid, it it near there? I have a short ram intake installed so there is no air box to remove.

Locate your throttle body...you will see a tube underneath running upwards diagonally to the back of the engine...Its on the side of the engine below the valve cover but further toward the back of the engine.
