Need help with wiring my Alpine system
Ok, here's whats up. I just purchased a Alpine V12 amp (MRD-M605) with a single 12" sub (1222D). I am trying to figure out how to wire this up correctly because the sub has dual voice coils. My previous Rockford system was an easy setup, a 2 channel amp with 2 single voice coil 10"s...
So, how do I wire up a dual voice coil sub to a mono channel amp without messing up the ohms and blowing something up?

Re: Need help with wiring my Alpine system
if you go to the alpine website http://www.alpine-usa.com and then click on support > faq > speakers & amps > number 1 under subwoofers and then download the pdf file. in the pdf file at the top of the 2nd wiring diagram (2 ohms dual-voice coil sub) it tells you how to wire the sub correctly.
then to adjust the amp (i believe the one you have is a v12 series amp) do the same thing: http://www.alpine-usa.com > support > faq > speakers & amps > click on number 1 under amps and then click on the downloadable PDF document again and that tells you how to adjust your amp. if all else fails you can try http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/wo...igurations.asp |

Re: Need help with wiring my Alpine system
Awesome, thanks man. The wiring diagram on their site is way different than the ones they included with the sub. The ones you sent me make perfect sense. Thanks!
