Re: srt4 vs cobalt ss vs rsx-s vs celica gts

The most balanced and sensible choice is the RSX-S. But if you wanted to stand out and be a lil different, get the Cobalt SS.

The SRT4 is fast but no where near as nice on the inside as the RSX-S. The Celica is quick cuz it's light but not inspiring on the outside.

1. Cobalt SS (best of both worlds looks and performance)
2. SRT-4 (best performance but not looks)
3. RSX (good balance of looks and performance)
4. Celica GTS (not a bad balance but it just doesn't cut it)

Re: srt4 vs cobalt ss vs rsx-s vs celica gts

Acura RSX Type-S - Great combo of all around performance, style, and luxury.
Cobalt SS Supercharged - Great combo of performance, price, and in-your-face looks, the interior isn't quite as nice as the Acura though.
SRT-4 - For cheap thrills you can't go wrong with the SRT-4, but I'm not a big fan of the looks, and the interior lags behind the RSX and Cobalt.
Celica - Good handling, but the engine is the least powerful, and it's just out gunned in this comparo.

Give me the SRT-4 ACR. You can't get more performance for the money. I don't care that the interior is spartan if I wanted a nice interior I would buy a heavy luxury car.

I'd have to say SRT-4 for me. I just wish it was RWD, and looked a little better. Too bad its being replaced with a bad looking slower car

Is that so? What are they replacing it with?

If they do though Dodge is going to be shooting themselves in the foot.

Re: srt4 vs cobalt ss vs rsx-s vs celica gts

I choose the RSX-S because I like everything about it. From interior to exterior, its a great car. Plus, the K20A engine is really responsive to modifications.

Sure, it may not be as fast as the SRT4 or Cobalt SS but I dislike Chevy and Dodge so I can careless. Celica GTS is just not my style.

The SRT-4's replacement may not necessarily be the Neon's replacement.

RSX-S - The most refined car between the 4. Handling is said to be very communicative and the steering feel invokes driving confidence while maintaining unequivocal precision. The engine is first-rate, but peaky and lacking torque. Overall the best car.

Cobalt SS - Not as refined as the RSX-S, but manages par to greater performance out of the box. The balance of the car is considered to be exceptionaly sound, while its steering feel is nothing short of being clear-cut. The engine is also good. Not as smooth as the rsx, but its torque is more linear and stronger throughout the powerband. Overall, the fastest 1,2 punch when driving hard.

SRT-4 - Falls behind the others in refinement, but makes up for its superb engine. The consenus seems to be that the balance and feel is good, but not to the level achieved by the other 3. The engine however, is built to be as solid as a rock. Its power is untouched (only rivaled by the SS). Overall, a rock solid performer and quickest at the streetlight.

Celica GTS - The quality and refinement creeps within the level of the rsx, but lacks the powertrain to make it as competitive. Its all there. It just needs a little more juice. Overall, a fit and defined competitor, but it needs to hit the weights. That and a hair cut

I really don't know about this one. The Neon has the sport compact look to it. It's not much but it's there. This thing doesn't.

As for the SRT-4 I don't see them making anything out of this. I guess they could but it won't be as popular.
They better think of something though, Chevy's Cobalt SS doesn't look like it's going anywhere. I'm also sure the power for it will go up and up as it did with the SRT-4.
Maybe Chevy will get a damn clue and instead of supercharging the 2.0 they'll supercharge the 2.4 found in the base model.

More like mini-Durango. Nothing sporty or compact about it.

I'd go for the RSX-S. They look the best, have the best interior, will last longer then the Dodge or the Chevy, and have enough power to have some fun. This is the only one of these cars I would consider as a primary car/daily driver.

For tuning or a second car, the SRT4 is probably the best option because of the stock turbo. Tuners love these cars.

Toyota is a huge dissapointment right now considering their legacy for sports cars.
