Hey i changed all the oils, plus fix the chattering problem!
Hello people,
Not posting a question this time haha. i drive a 2000 bravada with about 74500 miles on it with no fluid change what-so-ever which explains why the gear oil that drained out was black, no joke. And the transfer case fluid was blu-ish black Just happy that i change all the oils in my car today, and fix that chattering problem. Changing the transfer case fluid once stopped the chattering. Now making u-turns or tight turns the front end of the truck doesn't feel like its hopping and is not making that grinding/growling noise. p.s Have a great day every day! And heres what i learned. 1) 3 Quarts of gear oil is a little more than enuff for both front and rear diff. And 3 quarts of AutoTrak II is more than enuff. 2)The rear diiff screw is on side of the diff.(passenger side), also found out that a hex key CANNOT unscrew the bolt, just use a rachet with an extension, perfect fit. Its a square bolt, not hex. 3)Nappa sells a suction pump for 11.99 while autozone sell for 7.99. 4) Still can't remember which way to turn the bolt to loosen bolt 5) IF not using a jackstand, stretch for at least 15 min before crawling under the car, the bolts are tight and can def easily pull a muscle. 6) After the rear diff finish draining there is still a few more ounces in the diff. that didn't drain out, use the suction pump and get it out. |
