very dissapointed
ok just got 03 tib aotu tiptronic an dit is slow as hell. i have cai and unbolted mufflers so ruuning straight pipe. i thought these cars were faster than this im not gonna go all out with this car its mainly for my women, but im adding a safc, headers and mabey a cro2 system. that because ive seen them make good gains in that vehicle with a safc added also. i may be dissapointed because its the auto not the six speed. one more thing ive been looking through the threads and dont see many things to give this car power...u know little tips and tricks for little gains like my 12 sec 1st gen neon and my 12 sec gst has. some one have some info

well this aint no dsm... so yeah...
get a real exhaust... and what kind of intake do you have? get a decent set of headers... get some plugs, wires, UD pulley.. and then tune your SAFC to it.... with soimple bolt ons teh tib makes pretty nice power/ numbers... but remeber thsi car is a fuckin hell of alot heavier than your 2 previous cars... to get your tib in the 12 (or your girl's tib) youre gonna need a built block.. ported heads.. ported IMs.. a high boosting s/c kit or a turbo kit (obviously) get some cams... everything you would do to any other car..

uhmm correct me if im wrong but cro2 does nothing, it cools the engine instead of giving it more power as Nitros would.
btw a tip, dont get nisco started about nos

"We are dealing with internal combustion engines. This means that air is mixed with fuel, ignited, causing combustion. There are a few factors that play into how well (or poorly) that combustion is executed. Number one, the more air the engine has access to in order to mix with fuel, the more energy can be produced. This is also the basic logic behind turbo- and superchargers, An engine needs oxygen to combust with fuel, which creates the power to turn the wheels. The two main factors at play here are:
1) Volume of air (O2). More air to combust, more power. 2) Temperature of air (O2) Colder air is DENSER (i.e. - more O2 (oxygen) per cubic inch of air) than HOT air, and therefore the engine has even MORE oxygen to combust. this was a quote from the top of the thread board and the cro2 system is inlined in the inake pipe so it directly refers to the quote above, im sure u could fill the bottle with nitrous because its colder. but my point with the cro2 its not the best mod but in combo with the safc it makes great gains with added fuel because u get a greater amount of combustion. it will work with any car for good gains. |

NGM has a fuel tuner (pre programmed to the settings according to your tiburon's personal mods, it has really helped alot of people flatten out thei AFR, get thei tibs tuned correctly plugs/ wires, id go with nology wires.... they now have Hot wires, and now cool wires.. they really help with response, and electrical, and many people have attested that this is the single best mod to do... (im surprised to hear that also, i guess a nice set of ground wires really help) so theres a bit of a break down/ explanation of everything for bolt ons... if you have anymore questions, please by all means post up

Not alot of years under their belt, but by far not the worst Import out there to buy. Just out of curiosity, but does your womean use this car for sole daily transport? Cuz if so, please tell me how you manage to stay ticket free w/out a muffler.

Adding that with bigger GA hot wires all around, like at the plugs, allow the wires to utilize a bigger flow. If that makes sense. I suck at explaining things, but it makes perfect sense in my head.

www.kspec.com has some Maintec headers for the Tuscani also. I can tell you from first hand experience they're very well made. If you get the GT headers, you might/might not have fitment issues. The GT headers for the RD1/2 are a HUGE PITA to get on, so check on that if you want to get them.
