Peak Horsepower
What gear would be safe to rev the rpms to 5200? I tried 2nd gear at 80 mph and the engine roared loudly. I didn't do it too much because thought it may be bad for the engine or transmission.

You say it's safe , but does it hurt the longevity of the engine.
I say probably so. But hey, what's the point of having a firebird if you don't drive it!!!!
