electrical problems on a 1998 cherokee

Just bought a 1998 jeep cherokee 4 x 4 sport

here are some problems or things that I am not sure about since I do not have a owners manual.

ac does not work, no power going to it. AC unit will work when directly jumped to battery, blows cold. Was told all relays are fine and that it was the multi function switch in dash, anyone familar with this?

I turned the headlights on without the key in the ignition and could not turn them off without puttiing the keys in. I did not wait long enough to see if they went out on there own. Is there a time delay function that I could have activated.

seatbelt warning chime and lights do not come on. Could they have been disconnected?

There is no display in the instrument cluster when driving to show the driving mode 4 x 2 or 4X4 operation, was told it does not come on this model. I thought it would light up when put into 4 wheel drive. light bulbs are ok, I swapped them with the turn signals.

Any help or ifo is appreciated.
