98 Blower Motor

This is a follow up from my 9-14 post.
Blower worked on and off for a few days and then stopped completely.
Found location of blower motor and module. Not that bad to access.
Removed connector and with a test light checked purple wire for power. There is none. Checked tester on light bulb. Tester is good. Here is my dilema.
Some mechanics tell me it's the blower motor, some tell me it's the module. I need to test the blower motor and the module direct before I buy the parts.
Can someone give me some instructions on how to do this.
