Valve cover difference

Hi,

Fast valve cover question. Are all d-series (d15, d15b2, d16a6, etc) valve covers (for all years 88-91) interchageable? They look identical but Honda lists a few different part numbers for those engines/years.

Thanks in advance.

PS I did search first.

Re: Valve cover difference

I thought so but Honda is funcky like that, it's happened to me before, the same parts from different cars look identical but there are small differences so they are not interchangeable.

Thanks again for the replies.

Only the pre-'96 are like that, the y8 has the plugs in the same spot as the non-vtec ones (of the same years). I always thought it was that way as well until someone corrected me and showed me a pic (forget who).

You are correct sir.. my D16Y7 looks exactly like my D16Y8.... sept my D16Y8 says SOHC VTEC on it and the D16Y7 does not.

Yes, pre-96 cars though, the valve covers are different between VTEC and non-VTEC, but that's about it.
