impala problems (go figure)

My husband has a 2001 Impala (I know the car in general is a piece of shit) and after getting a 60K "full service" started experiencing several problems...

The car started hesitating when he accelerates...fuel injection system was "re-cleaned" for free by Tires Plus and new spark plug wires.

Four or five days later, the problem started again but coupled with very rough idling. It never shut off but feels like its going to...took it back to Tires Plus, the third spark plug wire was installed incorrectly and melted halfway through...causing a short...

he was also told that the "fuel injection coil" is bad and put in a used one...(why do they have "used" fuel injection coils laying around?)...car ran fine for three days, now the first problem is happening again...hesitation when accelerating...not a lot, just a little jerk that you can feel in the pedal.

any ideas, suggestions?

I'd stop going to Tires Plus as the first step. If you paid them by credit card, challenge the repair bill with your credit card company. Chances are that you'll win.

I think they effed the car up on you royally. From my experience in the business, tire places are not the best places to have your car fixed. They have a high turnover of employees, everything is rush-rush, get it out the door.

Ask your friends & neighbors for a good independent shop, avoid the dealer unless the car is still under some sort of warranty.
