funny story, civic VS Musashi

this morning on my way to work a silver Civic 2 door blasted past me at like 85 while I was doing 70. the Civ was a late 90's model with the old SI wing but it wassnt an SI. I payed no attention cause my tires are wobbling a bit due to bad thread wear and I have to drive slow so I am used to cars blowing past me left and right.
anyway I hadnt really payed attention till I got to the toll and payed my dollar then as I am taking off, he exits from the gate next to me and blows past me again. he had no muffler but the sound of the engine gasping for air caught my ear.
I look over an see a young dude, blonde hair, blue eyed preppy looking grin with a polo cap and two young girls in his car both in bathing suits.
now the two cars are completely different categories. a race between me and a stock Civic would be as fair as a run between a Mustang Cobra and a Mazda 3.
But he did have two chicks, he was smiling as he passed me (smirking really) and he was "trying" me!
So I drop from fifth to fourth and give it gas. 80-90-100-115-120 and he is a spec in my rearview. besides 120 is usually top end for those Honda sohc engines.
after about 3 miles he catches up, gets next to me and again I leave him as a little dot behind me. he just cant keep up.
all of a sudden from the other side of the highway I see a silver jag headding in the opposite dirrection and flashing his lights.
Usually when there is a police speed trap people do that to warn each other of cops up ahead. so I slow it down and see the Civic catching up hard.
I try to warn him, I hit my hazards, he probably thought I was declaring victory and the sucker flys by me going like 90
sure as crap a state trooper pulls out up ahead and heads him off then pulls him over.
I wassnt happy for him but oh well, better him than me I guess.

Eh, the chicks in bikinis probably got him outta the ticket...unless he got pulled over by a female cop Eitherway, at least you didn't get caught. If he was determined to be an idiot, he got what was coming to him.

LOL That's awesome Musashi. And the whole flashing lights deal from the other side of the bridge is super cool. I never heard about that before....is that just around your area or a general rule? I'll be on the lookout for that from now on.

Sweet, love when that happens...just can't help but love it, even if it was my best friend i'd still be dying laughing.

People flash their lights around here when theres cops ahead, it's illegal to do so, but it sometimes helps.

It is an unwritten rule of the road Slade, I learned it from my mom and I do it all the time I just havent seen many others do it. apparently its an international thing cause I told the story to a 62 year old co-worker and he told me in Cuba everyone does that too and I know for sure in Colombia they do it.
I dont care if its illegal, I could just say I was saying hello to a friend heading in the opposite dirrection......prove me wrong.

I could see where you would think it was between me and CivRacer, but nah me and Chris wouldnt race eachother out of respect.......that guy respects me too much.
