Question It wont stay fired!

I need help. My car has a problem of not staying fired. When I try to start it, the engine will fire like its suppose to but after I turn the key back the engine dies. I have spark and fuel but it seems that its not holding it. It will start intermitly. Like it will start sometimes. And when i had the key turned all the way and held it, it seemed that was helping keep it fired. Please help i don't know what's wrong with my car.

Re: It wont stay fired!

did you adjust your idle or something...did you try holding the gas a little after you let off the key to see if it was idling to low?
the main relay might be bad...? dose it start every time?

The igniter unit has been replaced, the main relay has been re-worked,
yes i tried to keep it running by fluttering the gas pedal but it would not stay running. though sometimes you start it and it stays running??

Re: It wont stay fired!

on the ignition switch there is off, acc, on, start. in the on position, that's when u'r dash lights come on and the fuel pump primes and u'll here the main relay click. if u r getting all those in the on position, then it's not the ignition switch causing the problem. if u'r not getting them then that's it.
