brake shudder

I have a 95 Lumina. I replaced the discs and pads about 4 months ago. Recently it has started shuddering when braking and continues to get worse. It is much more noticable when coming down from higher raters of speed. Where should I go first?

Re: brake shudder

Make sure it is not the rear brake drums, with caution, use only the emergency brake to slow down, see if it shudders, it would be the rear. Cheap rotors or failure to clean the rotor mounting hubs, or uneven wheel stud torques could warp the front.

Re: brake shudder

does your steering wheel shimmy when you brake? If so, its the front rotors. however, if not, it doesnt rule out the front, if that makes sence.
