A/C Temperature display

On a friend of mine's hyundai, ever since he had the battery replaced the temperature is displayed in Celsius instead of fahrenheit. Does anyone know how to toggle this cause it does not appear to be in the owners manual.

Thanks.

Converting the Auto Climate Control from C to F

As requested...

Taken from Hyundai Webtech.

TSB # 01-97-002 Santa Fe Pre-Delivery Service Requirement

2002 SANTA FE PRE-DELIVERY SERVICE REQUIREMENT
DESCRIPTION:
On 2002 model year Santa Fe's equipped with the automatic climate control option, anytime the12-volt power supply is removed, the HVAC display will default to a Celsius temperature value. When the vehicle arrives at your dealership, the temperature display will be displayed in Celsius since the "short connector" has been left in the open position during transportation. This bulletin provides the procedure for converting the display to Fahrenheit.

SERVICE PROCEDURE:
During the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) the "short connector" must be properly installed to allow interior lights and audio system to function normally.

The "short connector" is located in the passenger fuse compartment and needs to be rotated 180 degrees to enable the circuits to operate.

NOTE
The display can be changed with out rotating the "short connector" but the display will default back to Celsius once the ignition is turned off.

After the "short connector" has been fully seated, turn the ignition switch to the run position to activate the HVAC display. Then press both the "AMB" and the "TEMP(down)" buttons simultaneously for approximately 3 seconds. The display will change from Celsius to Fahrenheit.

NOTE
This procedure for resetting the HVAC temperature display will need to be used anytime the 12-volt power supply is interrupted such as when the battery is disconnected or has discharged.

Hope that helps..
