Viper Alarm System

Today I bought a Viper 350hv alarm system. It has power door locks (from remote), domelight supervision, truck/hood pop, ghost switch, shock sensors, disables the starter from cranking, etc. I was wondering how hard it is to install. It doesn't look that hard to install, but the directions are limited and they only show schematics. The thing is, I don't have much expierence in electrical wiring. I've done my deck, speakers, and subs. I'm just not sure if it's something that I could install myself or if I should take it to professionals. I'm just not sure if it's difficult to do or not. Also, does anyone know around what it would cost for the alarm system to be installed if I had to resort to that?

Re: Viper Alarm System

well if it has all of what you just mentioned there then id would take it to a shop and have them instal it for you, a small fee is better than you fucking up your car. plus if they mess up they usualy like guarantee their work

I'm not sure what you mean by "BCM" It has schematics, it's just not that detailed or anything. Also there are about 10 resistors in the kit and it doesn't show or tell you where they go. I think you're right and I'm better off getting it installed. I just don't want to spend $200 or whatever it is for it being done unless I have to. The system is only $233, but my friend hooked me up with a discount and I got it for $50, so I'm not complaining...err trying not to =)

The BCM is behind the interior fuse panel. It controls most of interior electrical stuff.

Ditto..and it doesn't have the BCM schematic..although I have access to
Hyundai Webtech. I'm going to call around and get quotes tomorrow and prolly get it done. I don't want to screw my electrical system up and I'm not comferable doing it.

Are you making fun of me and my non-working, by-passed Rheostat? Nah j/p.

And as far the cost of pro install, most places, like if you have a Circuit City or Best Buy near you, only charge anywhere from 30$-60$. Usually on the upper end if you didnt buy it from them, but shouldnt burn your pocket too bad.
