Buzzing noise

Anyone have this happen?Whenever I hit a bump, pothole, etc, there is a buzzing noise from the front end.It almost sounds as if it's coming from the passenger side strut.
Also when I come to a sudden stop the car clunks real bad, like there are no brake pads in the front calipers. There is about 50% of brake pad life left from what I was told and the car stops on a dime when driving normally with no squeaks, rattles, etc.
I am not sure if the second topic coincides with the first, but any help is greatly appreciated.

Check to see if the plastic guard for the serpintine (sp) belt is loose. you have to take off the passenger side tire off to look. Just off the top of my head.
