Alarm System Driving me Insane
I went to install my new pioneer cd player today, after having the car run while trying to do this. Once I connected the cd-player and correctly connected it went to turn it on and nothing happened. I opened up the fuse box ad the raido fuse has blown, so i just took another 10 amp fuse out of another slot and placed it in the radio and the alarm system started going off. Turns out the one i took out was the alarm systems fuse. I returned all the fuses to the correct slots and then tried to start the car, and since the alarm system is still on the car will not crank. I've pulled the fuse to the alarm system and it still goes off, ive disconnected the battery and when i plug it back it and try to crank it the alarm still goes off. Does anyone know how i can totally disable the whole alarm system to where it will crank or just bypass it long enough to drive it to get someone to look at it. I'm driving a 96 pontiac sunfire SE. I was told i would have to call someone and get them to bring the "computer" out there to recode the alarm system. Any ideas please let me know.

Re: Alarm System Driving me Insane
don't know exactly what i'm talking about here, my buddy had a 99sunfire and the alarm module is located in the trunk above the left wheel well. you could try disconnecting the wire harness on it but i'm not sure how it connectes to the starter wiring.
sorry i'm not much help/ |
