90 new yorker tranny problems

Just purchased a winter ride, car drives fine, after awhile when stopped at red light, all gears act like neutral. Turn car of then start, works fine. I read a similar post referring problem to a exprensive solenoid pack. Any for suggestions would be helpful, thanks, RJ.

yup, thats what it sounds like hopefully anyways, you better hope that it is onlt the solenoid pack and not that it needs a tranny overhaul
