Question Need some Info from all u good people

Alright I know this was probably answered a lot of times. I have searched the web and they have given me some info but not all and not accurate prices.

Now I want to know how much it would cost to get a plain civic (hatch preferably but does not matter) and get the hp up to 200+ or plainly get lower than 6sec 0-60 time.

Now if I were to buy a crappy civic (good frame) and it would need a new engine and transmission, how much $$ would I have to put in all together with work and the price of the car to reach my goal. I really want to go with a sleeper look (cause I do not want my car keyed or stolen). I would like to turbo the engine but I do not know which one to put in. I heard that the Integra type-R engine first and is good but I don’t know. Now is it better to turbo it or supercharge it if I want higher hp??? (I think turbo)…. Now is it possible to TT (twin turbo) it??? If there is a good site for my to go to and check things out then please list it.

I have about 17k for this. If that is enough tell me. Cause I want to send a little less than that. Also please give me your advice, I heard that there is a project civic going on… how much $$$ did u put in it and how much hp does it have??? Anyway please help me out.

PS- Nitrous Oxide is out of the question.

buahaha, 17k will get you a fast civic. get a stock dx model hatch for around 8K-9K and then throw in a b18c1 engine with i/h/e, cam and cam gear.

edit: what year car do you want?

i would say buy a 92-95 hatch preferablly a CX model or something like that and then drop the big motor in it. then spend the money on some big internals for the motor and bam you have one fast but slow looking hatch. by the way this is what i plan on doing. i was thinking of buying a black colored hatch for 3 grand and then dropping the motor in. Some day i will.

B20 motor
B18 head
B16 intake runners
cams/headers/intake/exhaust/nitrous/pulleys

Setup 2:

i dont know about a twin turbo. if that would fit in the bay. but if you want more high end power then get a turbo. if you dont want the turbo lag then get a sc. u can go for a drag turbo, greddy, apexi(???) or a jackson racing sc, vortech sc. all will run in the price range of 1500 -4000.that is without installation and u plan on doing it urself which could be a great learning experience. if im wrong on anything please somebody correct me.

hmm.....why would you want an LS tranny, with a b18c engine? the gearing is too tall to take full advantage of vtec, if you arent spending much time in high RPMs.....unless you want to take like 15 seconds between shifts....
unless ofcourse you meant b18b engine, with a GSR tranny..which would make a little more sense...

And then both of you guys w/ you sewing maching powered cars get passed by a moped w/ a 5hp Engine and he goes on to put 5 car lengths on you. Racing an EX vs a DX is like a 10 speed bike vs a golden retriever.

Yeah 17Gs for this is plenty. Get decent hatch or whatever for 3-4K, then an LS swap for anoher 3K rebuild for boost, throw on a turbo and you'll have well over 200hp depending on how much boost you go with, and twin turbo is a waste.
