Awful grinding sound

I have a 65 Monza, and today while drivng, I came to a stop and heard a horrible grinding noise coming from the front end. It continued to do this each time I began to move or came to a stop, and then the noise went away. Any thoughts? Perhaps brake issues.
Any input is much appreciated.

it sounds to me like you have worn through your brake lining, but also check your wheel bearings and your hub seals
