Muffler

If I wanted a nice muffler for my 99' Eclipse Gs that gave it a nice low tone what would be my best options for about $150?

Why would you spend that much on just a muffler when you could get a complete custom exhaust system for $300?

Re: Muffler

I got a Megan racing muffler for about $80 and had a local exhaust shop make a pipe from the cat back for $115. It sounds awesome, deep and loud

Re: Muffler

Just go all out and get a Remus muffler. They sound amazing... But they're $300!

Re: Re: Muffler

Come on..I seen "performance"(ricer) mufflers on ebay for 7 bucks. I bought one off there before I had a turbo car for my N/A. Just use e bay..very cheap and they are all basically the same stuff. Mine was like 20 bucks all together w/ shippiing at the time and it sounded fine. Now I was 2 yrs dumber then and didnt get cat back. The one on my car now is ricey also and I bought it for $30 off some kid and it sounds deep(turbo back of course but still, no reason to spend much). Just get cAT BACK done after you get the muffler by your local exhaust shop(call around for best pricing). Will only cost you like 50 bucks more then they will charge just to weld the damn muffler on anyway. Will sound better and might add a pony or two. Good luck.

Re: Muffler

I would recommend that you don't skimp on the muffler. A cheap muffler will sound ricey, and will only get worse with time. I've heard the Apexi N-1, and they are nice... and they sound the same a year later! But if you listen to some of the sound clips online of a Remus muffler, you might think $300 is worth it. But from a performance standpoint... the cheaper the better. Most mufflers will flow pretty well (especially for a NA 420A).
