Question 1995 Escort clutch

Hey guy's
I have a 1995 ford escort that has been sitting for a while with a bad clutch. I am wondering how much work it willl actually take to replace it, Is this something that a weekend wrench can do on hi own???

The transaxle has to be removed to access the clutch. You've got to pull the driveaxles, the starter, the hydraulic clutch line, upper transaxle mount, front transaxle mount, crossmember and shift control rods. The weight of the engine is supported by the mounts on the transmission so before taking the tranny mounts off, the engine has to be supported with a support bar from the top. A transmission jack is useful to get the tranny out if you're doing this by yourself. After the driveaxles are removed, plugs have to be inserted into the holes to support the differential gears so they don't fall out. On a difficulty scale of 1 to 10 this is about a 5. If you haven't done this before, expect to use the greater part of the weekend.
