Where is Badging code located?
Getting ready to inspect a Skyline, can someone tell me where the badging code is located. The post at the top on badging codes did not say where it was located.
Also anyone know how to tell if the engine is the original engine in an R32. Are they matched to the badging code or other numbers? One last question, this car is a BNR32. I am a little confused what the N stands for. Does this mean front wheel steering only, and not HICAS all wheel steering? Thanks, AL

Re: Where is Badging code located?
Al,
Badging code? Top of the fire wall, I think is what you are talking about. I could not find any block numbers, but Sean might know. As the for the N, never looked into that. If you find out, post what you found. Tony

The N is as shown in the pinned Badging Code Thread:
N: Nosewheel drive & SUPER HICAS As far as the Engine, it has the basic engine code stamped on the block on the passenger's side where it mates with the transmission IIRC. Again, it's only basic, ie. RB26, nothing after that. The other info you can tell from looking at the engine. All of the RB engines are E: Nissan ECCS. You'll be able to the the turbo or twin turbo on the one you'll be looking at. As with the D: Dual over head cam. There are no numbers that will tell you if it's the original engine as far as I'm aware of.

the HICAS system IS the 4 wheel steering system.

So my guess for the codes are: C: SUPER HICAS (for non-GTR with RWD) N: SUPER HICAS (for 4WD [nosewheel drive]) -AL Quote:

Re: Where is Badging code located?
yes.....basically. the GT-R, which is AWD, has more power biased to the rear wheels than the front.
