Hey guys, I wanted to get information about something. I use the Mobil 1 5w-30 Extended Mileage Oil in my 2004 Chrysler Town & Country. I have just heard people say that Amsoil is better than Mobil 1. Is this true? Can the engine run for a longer time by using Amsoil instead of Mobil 1. Please post your comments.......

Re: Is Mobil 1 better or Amsoil?
This is another one of the questions we may never find the true answer to. Amsoil and Mobil synthetics are both excellent oils in their own right. Amsoil will guarantee the engine against oil related failures while Mobil One does not. Amsoil also allows for extended oil changes of up to 25K miles as long as you change the oil filter every 12.5K miles and use a heavy duty oil filter. Mobil one allows for 15K oil changes and you can use a standard filter. I have used Amsoil and Mobil One and have been quite satisfied with both. Which you use or like is up to you.

Another oil to consider is Red Line, on the website http://www.redlineoil.com/ they state you can use this oil for 100k miles, just change filter regularly.
