Miles Per Gallon

I have a 1972 Super Beetle and I was wondering how many miles per gallon other peoples bugs get. Im not sure how many miles i can get. But maybe ill ge an idea from hearing other what other bugs get. If any one can respond ill really apreciate.

i have avg'd roughly 25-35 mpg. depending on whether or not i'm towing a gooseneck. i've known folks to get close to 40mpg.

I tend to consistently average 20mpg with 'enthusiastic' driving. In the owner's manual i think it says you should average about 25mpg.

I was getting about 30mpg, that is until I put dual webers now I get about 12-15 mpg

I'm with you, 5gcivic, was gettin about 25+ with my progressive Weber, but now that I got my IDF's I'm afraid to check!

Oh well, I say just have fun. Money is replaceable so you might as well put it in your gas tank.

My 69 with later,warmed over engine doesnt get the greatest mileage,but you need to remember,its only a 10 gallon gas tank (as opposed to modern cars with 14-20 gallons),so it may seem its getting bad mileage,but its not really ALL THAT bad.

Yeah, In my 63 I can squeez a little over 8 gallons in my tank, so I fill up frequently. Im actually about to go fill up now.

My 1969 gets about 20-25 depending on how spirited I drive it. Trouble is the gas guage works sporadically (and I forget to watch it) so I have run out of gas more times than I wish to admit. hehe
