Thumbs down Formula One?stuff It,it's A Joke.

Ater watching the Austria Grand prix today,I doubt very much if I shall bother again.EVER.For Barrichello to convincingly win the pole position, lead the race from start to final corner, and be ordered to hand the win to his senior team co-driver shows that this is no longer a motor racing series. It is nothing more than a very expensive attempt by the Ferrari management to ensure that their best hope gets every point that he can lay his hands on.

Team orders stink at the best of times, but todays decision by the Ferrari team management was the absolute worst I have ever seen.It cannot possibly affect the outcome of the series, and robs Barrichello of a well-deserved victory.

Schumacher was too ashamed to be on the race-winners podium, the crowd booed the result announcement and NOBODY believes that the result was decided on the track.Schumacher does not deserve the points, does not need the points, did not win the points. As races go, this one stank.Ferrari have just signed a 2 year contract with Barrichello. He must be wondering right now why the hell he bothered.

I wonder what the Ferrari sponsers such as Bridgestone, Marlbro etc. are thinking right now. Their golden boy has turned to coal.

It totally sucks. If I was Schumacher, I wouldn't have done it. I would have said that I had a problem with the accelerator or something and that I couldn't get past him.

I just saw the replay on the Speed Channel. I wish Schumacher wouldn't have done it. Barrichello is the one who deserved the win.

Thumbs down <---- actually Moondog this post

MD: the totally bizarre thing is that Ferarri would end up with the same points in the manufacturers' championship whether it was MS-RB or RB-MS  It's just stupid. I was glad to see thet Schuey looked pissed off about it - apart from anything else, it implies that his team lacks confidence in him to win on his own merit - which is bizarre in itself. I agree with Andy (spec2) if it were me, I would have said my foot slipped off the accelerator out of the last corner. Hell, he could have coasted to the line ahead of Montoya...

Damn shame

This is my VEIW i started in the OT that i'll just copy and post in here instead.........

After sitting up and watching the F1 last night from Austria,I could not beleive it when the Ferrari team told Barrichello to move over on the last lap so his team mate (Schumacher) could pass to win.....WHAT A F*CKIN JOKE IMO

If hes not good enough to win on the day....tough luck.
I know they race for the team....but what about the fans who watch and want to see a good race??
They are moaning about how the F1 is losing its apeal to some people....this only makes it worse.

One very dissappointed F1 fan

Thumbs down

Team orders are a joke.:finger4:

It shows that Ferrari don't have confidence in Schumacher's ability & that they don't respect Barrachello's skill.
Thats the way it appears to me anyway. It insults both drivers & the fans as well to do such a blaitently stupid thing.
Both drivers looked pretty pissed about it to.

The Panda hates bullshit like this.

I watched F1 after along time as I was getting pi$$ed off with it...and what happens Ferrari go and screw it up so MS can win the championship....not as if he desperatly needed the 4 extra points anyway...he already had a commanding lead in the championship....I feel sorry for RB he had a great weekend up until the last corner.......don't think I'll bother watching again

I am a Ferrari fan, so I am happy that they won. Of course I am angry that Barichelo was told to move over. What a waste of his efforts.

Formula 1 went to shit after my hero Ayrton Senna died. He was the greatest and never should have gone to Williams.

OK, you're all asking for it.

First of all, I totally support the decision. ferrari have lost the championship by a handful of points for three years in a row, they are not taking any chances and I wouldn't want them to lose.

Secondly, this was never a race, so how can you say that rubens deserved the win? (for my full view on the subject go to the F1 forum) And who the hell is Barichello to win for Ferrari? (read this)

Next point - why Michael passed / why rubens let him pass. ever heard of the thing called THE CONTRACT? Well, both drivers have it, and both have to do what they are told.

If you don't like F1, don't watch it. had I been in Jean Todt's position (or whoever made that decision) I would have done the same. Lots of F1 drivers and managers actually agree with it.

I have a lot more to say, but this is not the Forum to discuss it. The link is in my sig

Regards,
Alex
