Wierd knock in wheel well.

Ok maybe yall can answer this.

When I let the clutch out all the way when im in reverse, just before the clutch is all the way out, there is a knock coming from the wheel well on the drivers side.

also, when i let the clutch out in the lower gears, or if i unload the front end in a low gear, it does the same thing.

Any suggestions, or does someone have the same problem>

Re: Wierd knock in wheel well.

i found the post i made about this back in january and this is what Car boy 16 told me

"Check your engine and tranny mounts - dont be surprised if one of them is bad....I've never heard of sway bar bushings creating a clunking noise when putting it in reverse, I dont even know how it could cause such a thing...
Without even looking at any tranny mounts or engine mounts, you can figure out if that's the problem by simply having someone put the car in reverse while youre looking at the engine for any movement - if there is movement when it's put in reverse, then you know it's a mount..."

Thanks man, I did a search but maybe I wasnt looking for the right phrase.
Is that a terribly expensive thing to get fixed or can I do it myself and are there upgrade that wont make my car hum/shake with the engine?

Re: Wierd knock in wheel well.

i'm not too sure, i know your gonna have to use a jack or somethin to take the weight of the engine since your gonna be taking off what supports it. hopefully someone else here knows, i havent had to deal with motor mounts before.
