Unhappy Need help with crappy acceleration.

It's 1996 3.8L Camaro.

I filled up my car with gas, 14.2 gallons to be exact. I started driving and notice the car was extemely sluggish, IE not accelerating smoothly. I continue to drive and then the check engine light starts flashing, and the car becomes increasingly sluggish. I know I should check the computer code, but it's late and I want to see if you guys can narrow it down. I will run to autozone tomorrow to figure out the problem.

The car does have crappy fuel injectors, did they officially crap out on me? Spark plugs? Bad gas?

I just hope this problem is cheap to fix, I JUST got enough money to build my computer ($1300) and don't want to have to spend it fixing my car...

If you dont feel like spending money on fixing your car, you shouldnt have one. Maybe you should do a tune up, if you havent in the past 30K miles.. which should be.. spark plugs, wires, air/fuel/oil filter, along with an oil change, also buy/use an STP i.e. fuel injector cleaner. All this should cost around 60 bucks.

Re: Need help with crappy acceleration.

Post the code they give you at AutoZone, I bet it's related to the EGR system.

Re: Need help with crappy acceleration.

First make sure your gas cap is on tight, that can cause a problem with the evap system and throw a code. Thing is if your SES light was flashing then you had a misfire, so id say do plugs/wires

Re: Need help with crappy acceleration.

Whats up with the Evap shit-its just a vacuum leak.

Sounds like a plugged cat involving the second O2 sensor. Or maybe some other things such as EGR,MAF,some Crank pos sensor, cam pos sensor, bad fuel pump or any other crapy ass emission thing. Missfiring too but it would be noticeable.
