Boost Leak Need help

Well i had a pretty bad boost leak a couple days ago and did a boost leak test and found that the lower IC hose came off the bottom so had it put back together and it was running perfect. Driving last night i floored it and the same (sound) thing happened again so i took a look at the lower IC pipe and its still clamped on there and im not not making boost now. could this still be ic piping related. it looks like the pipe has swelled up and didnt go back to its normal shape. just trying to figure out if its time for hard pipe? i cant really see if the upper pipe is on there because i cant really access it. anyone help on this part?

Re: Boost Leak Need help

You need stronger Clamps and might as well upgrade to pipes.

Re: Boost Leak Need help

build a boost leak tester and pump it up, but watch your AFTERMARKET boost gauge. it could be as little as a vacuum line on off that is causing this. And if it is the hose you will hear air coming out of t. if you dnt hear anything, look at you gauge and see if it holding pressure

Re: Boost Leak Need help

Did you do another test? the pipe could be torn. I'd say use t-bolt clamps they work awesome they cost a littlle more but you can even get them at crapa.

Re: Boost Leak Need help

I have seen stock rubber IC pipes have holes in them that didn't really open up until a certain pressure level. Do a more thorough job with the boost leak tester to rul everything out. You should be able to get it to hold 25 psi dropping to 0 only after a couple minutes.
