F430!?

Has anyone heard anything about any companys releasing an F430 model? It's about as new as the C6 and Revell already has a C6 kit out, so I'd like to see an F430 kit out soon.

Re: F430!?

Yes. Fujimi and Revell AG are planning on making one. Expect the same one from Revell a few months after.

HLJ is saying Oct for the Revell and Nov for the Fujimi version... I wouldn't put money on thoses dates thou.

Revell

Fujimi

Revell is also releasing the 288 GTO but it's probably a re-issue. It would be nice if they made some updates to it. I been wanting one but not willing to pay the eBay prices.

I've only ever built Tamiya kits. How is the quality of Revell and Fujimi kits?

Re: F430!?

Can't really say myself about the fujimi kits, but the revell are nice kits. I like 'em a lot, and am currently building one as of right now..

Re: F430!?

Fujimi kits are different from Revell, most of the kits are curbside (no engine), and have a simplfified chassis ans interior. The strong points for Fujimi are the body, very nicely done with crisp and detailed engraving, and the rims and tires, on par with Tamiya and Aoshima. A lot of people complain about Fujimi for the poor fit of some parts: In my experience it si still much much better than an AMT kit of the 60s-80s, and a skilled modeler can easily correct the few flaws.

Fujimi had released a series of kits in the 80s, the "enthusiast" series, which featured highly detailed chassis and engines, and a high part count (250+ !!). I have built a few of these (Ferrari and Porsche mainly), and they are in my opinion still up to today's standards (perhaps a bit less detailed than recent Tamiya's releases), and they are quite an experience to build. Fujimi re-released some of the Ferrari enthusiast kits this summer, notably the 288 GTO. This model is much better than the Revell release, which is nothing more than the Italeri kit (a good model, but the wheels look wrong, and the overall detail is lacking).

Re: F430!?

With that pic of the fujimi box, it looks like it will be a curbside. Probably muhc like their Lamborghini kits. There is an engine top, but thats about it. But this can be easily detailed.
The revell one will probably have an attempt at an engine. The modena did. It's no tamiya quality tho. But who knows, they might actually put a little more time and effort into this.

I think i'm gonna get the Fujimi 430 over the Revell AG kit, if it was Revell US I'd get it, Revell AG kits are known for the flash and heavy mold lines (Like my Ferrari 612)

Okay all you super-sleuths listen up! Go look at the parts layout on that Fujimi picture NOW!

They show the 430 body sitting next to the parts layout for the Maranello

Gawd, I hope that's not what it looks like when I open the box

Certainly nowhere near 98 parts in that picture. They will have to do a Lamborghini Murcielago/Gallardo-style engine top end because of it's visibility below the glass.

As for the Revell 430, I seriously hope it's an all-new kit like the Scaglietti. That's good enough for me to not miss it by Tamiya much. The HLJ prices for the Revell kit are terrible. If the Revell kit ends up in the US like the Scaglietti it'll be much cheaper than the Fujimi. If it's a rehashed curbside Modena kit I'll be mighty unhappy because that kit really sucks in comparison to Tamiya, Fujimi, and modern Revell AG. I think I'll not pre-order any of these until I know exactly what is what with the Revell kit first. I sure hope we see more variations than Tamiya did. Not just a Spider, but Challenge cars, Stradales as well.

The Revell 288 GTO is a reissued Italeri. Nice kit if it's cheap enough, it's not nearly as time consuming to build as the Fujimi.

The F430 spider is definitely a beautiful car....but so are all ferrari's (less their one mistake, the Testarossa ). I really hope Tamiya does one too, because their kits are pretty awesome
