'06 Civic Si

I noticed the '06 civics went on sale today, but what about the Si model? I've heard on a couple sites that it won't be available until November, or possibly early '07. Anyone have a better approximation?

Thanks

Re: '06 Civic Si

The new SI will not be out till after its debute at SEMA Vegas. We are being told it will hit the floors early first quarter next year with a price tag of 21-24k. I believe there will be 3 different models.

Wow, thats a bit steeper than I was looking to spend. Oh well, I'll just go with the coupe and get a better intake/exhaust put in eventually.

Re: '06 Civic Si

Wait! Dont settle for a 7th gen coupe it will not satisfy your needs especially if you interested in speed. Purchase a used SI or RSX.

What on earth is it using for the engine, anyway? I'm glad they didn't try to stroke the D block out again to get that extra 100cc's, but it looks like a de-bored K with an SOHC i-VTEC head? The numbers are weird, for me. Is it a new block altogether?

Re: '06 Civic Si

The D block is bored over 75mm there is no potential to work there. Now does the K look like a bored over D17 considering the D was here before the K. The K has upto a 88mm bore.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I haven't seen the engine yet. I was just looking at the displacement, and thinking there's absolutely no way that's a D block, as the stroke would be over 100mm to get 1799cc out of one of those. Then I saw the bore x stroke no.'s on Honda's website, and 81mm x 87.2mm makes it sound like maybe a K20 with a smaller bore and slightly longer stroke. My question is what block they're actually using for the new Civics.
