leganza seems to guzzle to much gas

hello, I have a 1999 leganza. i recently purchased it from a private seller. i fill up the tank full of gas, and i can only go about 275 miles on that tank. is that normal? or is something wrong? suggestions?

Also, when i am driving on the freeway, and i let off the gas, it seems to slow down to fast. ( this is just when i coast). I am not sure what it is. and i am pretty sure that the brakes are not rubbing. any suggestions there? thanks for any help.

I get 480 to a tank, get a tune up, oil change and make sure you get the timing belt done.

It sounds like you are driving with your overdrive on. It tends to guzzle alot of gas when you keep it on.

How Can I tell if the overdirve is on? Its actually a friends car. so I cant go look at it? thanks.

In all automatic leganzas, when overdrive is on there is a orange indicator on your console that lights up "pwr". The pwr/overdrive button is on the left side of the of the shifter below the gear button. You should also have a "hold" button which allows you to go through the gears like you can with a subtronic shifter found on many of the newer luxary cars. (Though the leganza is a far cry from luxary)
