Question Condensation & Sludge

Hey guys, I have a 96 Lumina 3.1 that has 110,000 on it and it's definitely in bad shape and has MANY problems and I don't think she 's going to be around much longer but my main concern at this time is some condensation on the bottom side of the oil cap, a thick substance and condensation on pcv valve and also inside the grommet hole where the pcv goes. Also, when the car is warm, it is very difficult to remove the oil cap...almost as if it's welded shut. What should I do? At this time, it's my only source of transportation and I was wondering if it's a serious problem, is their a temporary fix until I get the time and money to take care of it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Condensation & Sludge

Change your pcv valve, it may not be venting your crankcase properly.

Re: Condensation & Sludge

Also good to check at this point to see if you have oil mixing in the water or vice versa. That might lead to a sludge around the oil cap.

Is your oil a mily brown color? check and make sure you dont have a lower intake manifold gasket thats blown. this is a common lumina problem and if so this might cause gunk.
