I would remove the shift linkage off the trans. and try to shift right on the trans.,If you still can't shift you will need to drop the pan and find out what you didn't do right. If it does shift at the trans. you have a problem in the column.

OK i did that it moves but it is very very very hard to move. all i changed in the tranny was the friction plates and nothing else the black mount on the rear of the tranny has 1 side of bolts locked in i did not lock in the other side yet but i dont see how that will affect the shifting before i stuck the tranny on the car it was easier to shift. am i suppoosed to leave it in nuetral when i put the tranny on the engine? |

Again sorry I'm not more help. Btw; I have seen the torque converter not properly meshed into the front pump and cause a lock-down situation when the bell housing bolts were tightened, But I don't believe it affected the shifting part of the trans. |

Re: I cant shift out of Park
my buddy turned the driveshaft and i put the valve body off and put it back in and while turning the driveshaft it locks into place as it should
so basically the valve body was not put back in properly. the line was not all the way in but now it is. while turning the driveshaft it gets in there now it shifts fine |
