Re: cool collar

I dunno how the filter is on the 4.3, but good luck getting that on a filter of a current GM v8.

Re: cool collar

the oil filter on the v8's is surrounded by the oil pan at least halfway around it. there is barely enough clearance to get a filter wrench in there

You need a Cool Collar Oil CoolerSM if you:

...
-do extended city travel and idling
-do extended hiway traveling
I guess I need one, I do both!

Re: cool collar

Most of the 34" radiators have Oil Cooling lines that go to the radiator. I was told the 5.3L have the plugs and all you need to do is pull the plugs add the lines that go forward and add your own cooler or go into the radiator. Better in my opinion.....

Re: cool collar

theres no way to significantly reduce engine oil temp without adding more capacity...i would run lines into a aux cooler or the radiator

basically thats a cool looking paperweight...IMHO
