Please Help!

My 1997 ponitac sunfire has just done something weird. I was driving home in the rain, and all of a sudden my batery light came on and it was extremely hard for me to steer the car. Then my car started overheating. Any ideas what happened? Or what I need to do?

serpentine belt, without it your alternator dont work and your battery wont charge, hence the battery light, also without it your power steering pump wouldnt work, which would cause the hard steering, and last but definetely not least, the belt also powers your water pump, without a water pump your car will over heat in less then a minute....

if you think about it your very lucky, 3 considerably major problems can be fixed for about $20

Re: Please Help!

Instructions are here presuming you have a 2.2L engine. The 2.4 will be a little different but is similar. There should also be a belt diagram under your hood as to the path the belt should take.
