TorqMaster Sparks

Well, I finally got my Torque Master sparks plugs in and installed and man, do I already love them! They give back really good power and good mileage. I recommend you all get a set of the Star series plugs from www.extremespark.com

The Star series is relatively new and designed for Honda's and their website hasn't been updated yet so you really can't get any info on the plug unless you actually call the company and talk to them. They are really nice people, I dealt with Daniel..he's a nice guy and know's his stuff.

The gap on these plugs is wickedly large and they fire a bright blue spark, yet they are at only a level 8 heat rating, which is slightly colder than a normal plug.

Nice, they look like good plugs. I use Bosch Platinum +4 plugs in my car, runs alot better than the NGK R's that were previously in!

You're running Bosch? I don't think I'd admit that in this forum..you got more guts than me..I can't stand that company..

How are they working out for ya anyway? Have you tried the NGK V-Power plugs? They are pretty damn good for conventional plugs..

The TorqueMaster's I just installed are very similar in design to the Bosch Four plug, but the center electrode / post is very rounded off..not an edge on it, which I think is supposed to encourage a 360 degree spark field but it doesn't..they still rule though..I can't wait to finally hook up a complete MSD system with coil and see how they perform then!

Whats wrong with Bosch? I noticed slightly better acceleration off the line when I installed the new plugs.. no complaints here. And no I havent tried NGK V-Power plugs.

I guess it's just personal preference..I dunno..a few years ago I just developed this nasty aversion to Bosch for some reason and then somebody else jumped on the bandwagon with me and that was that.

As far as I'm concerned, emotionally and preferentially speaking, Bosch and Diamler / Chrysler are in the same quality league with one another..and..make me feel pretty much the same way that Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson make my skin crawl at first site of them.

From what I've heard, Mercedes-Benz is using the Bosch Platinum +4 plugs in all there AMG models, so I dont see how the plugs can be bad?

Plugs in general are overrated. Get what you find works best, and stick with it. Be it Bosch or anything else.

But tourqemaster huh? I got the +4s and they aint too bad. But i gotta get new wires too, a msd spark system... but i just a had a new (stock) coil put on, maybe ill sell it.

I like em..which is saying alot considering that they cost $12.50 a piece. I've got a pretty good amount of torque steer and I drive my car like I stole it..yet I still reach the half tank mark with around 165 miles on the trip meter, with the A/C on with a 12 gallon tank.

Also running: MSD wires, short ram A.I., Royal Purple oil and port / polish with a 3 angle on the head. I only use Shell regular with the rip off octane booster also.

Assuming that you agree with the theory that a better spark will net you a more complete and powerful combustion; then better yet a 360 degree spark field (oh yeah, the gap is atleast double if not triple that of a conventional plug) will net a much more powerful and efficient combustion in the cylinder, resulting in less fuel used for the same amout of power.

Granted, on a stock system, they are only sparking to one of the four posts, I think an MSD ignition, with a coil will really light em up to all four at once.
